A native of Montgomery County, Paul grew up knowing he wanted to make a difference. It is why Paul decided to pursue a career in the law. After graduating from La Salle College High School in 1989, Paul attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduatedcum laudewith a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1993. Paul went on to obtain his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law in 1996.
Paul focuses his practice on labor and employment issues for municipal and public school clients as an attorney with Campbell Durrant Beatty Palombo & Miller, P.C. in Pittsburgh.
Education is a subject close to Paul’s heart. He has represented public school clients in both state and federal court, and has argued four cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on issues involving public education. As the father of two young daughters, he understands how a child’s education can shape their future.
One of his proudest achievements was when Allegheny County taxpayers were granted a one-year delay in the implementation of new property tax assessments after Paul persuaded the trial court that taxpayers needed time to challenge their assessments.
Paul brings a wealth of experience of handling issues that are essential to Pennsylvanians. He served as a law clerk to Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Sandra Schultz Newman from 1997 to 2002, where he had the opportunity not only to learn from Justice Newman, but to gain experience at researching and legal writing. In recommending his candidacy for the Commonwealth Court, the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Commission noted that Paul’s “writing skills are held in high regard, particularly his ability to clearly explain complex legal issues.”
As an attorney for the Levin Legal Group from 2002 to 2009, Paul handled all aspects of a school law practice. Paul has argued cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He also presented cases before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board, the State Civil Service Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board.
He is a member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.
Paul lives in Upper St. Clair with his wife, Jessica, and their two daughters, Felicity and Reagan.

Last week, the Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Lackawanna County met to interview candidates for several offices up for special election and one, due to a vacancy created on the ballot.

Pizza and light refreshments will be served. The Reagan Presidential Library is hosting Wednesday's debates.
